CULTIVATION

GROWING CARNIVOROUS PLANTS is surely a very rewarding thing to do. But to keep them going for many months and years can be quite challenging at the beginning. Looking back on my first years of growing carnivorous plants, I did everything what I thought would be necessary to keep my plants happy - slowly transforming all rooms of my apartment into growth chambers. Then came the day when I was fed up with those time-eating, muddy, algy slurries on every free deposit place - something had to happen.
Ever since then I am on the hunt for compact, aesthetic, forgiving and low-maintenance solutions for growing these plants. Mosts attempts didn't work too well under these criteria (at least all at the same time). But on some rare occasions, I found some few of these "egg-laying woolly-milk-sows", as we say in German ;)
In the following pages of this section I will sum up what I found to work well at a low care intensity - a basic cultivation guide and some of my low-maintenance setups.
